MPHS Students Earn College Board National Recognition Awards
Ten students at Mount Pleasant High School earned 16 academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. The students represent the top 10% of test takers either in their high school, among first-generation college students in their state, and/or among rural and small-town students in their state.
Students earning First-Generation recognition include Brissia Alvarez, Alberto Avila, Angel Farias, Sandy Farias, Juan Gallegos, Jennifer Luna, and Jaydy Martinez. School recognition award winners are Alvarez, Avila, Valerie Cassio, Carter Cook, and Conley Johnson. And Alvarez, Avila, Cassio, and Johnson also earned Rural and Small-Town honors.
Eligible students are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year and are awarded at the beginning of the next school year. Students receive their awards in time to include them on their college and scholarship applications.
