The Mount Pleasant High School and Mount Pleasant Junior High Cheerleaders kicked off competition season at the NCA North Texas Regional in Rockwall on Sunday, November 16 with both teams placing in the top five in their divisions.

MPJH competed in the Large Junior High/Middle School Game Day taking home 4th place. MPHS competed in the Medium Varsity Game Day division, also finishing in 4th place. Both squads received bids to the National competition in Fort Worth in January.

The MPJH and MPHS Cheer squads will compete again at the Crandall Invitational on December 6. MPHS Cheer is coached by Marissa Marr and Dustin Cook. MPJH Cheer is coached by Alexi Mayfield and Leigh Baker.
