Nine members of the Mount Pleasant High School chapter of FFA competed at the Area Leadership Development Event (LDE) held at Texas State Technical College in Marshall on Wednesday, November 19. MPHS has advanced two members to the State contest.

Senior Gunner Rodgers placed 2nd in Job Interview. In this competition, each member submits their resume, completes a job application for an agricultural position on site and participates in an interview via telephone, in person one-on-one and with a panel of possible employers.

Freshman Emy Chappell placed 1st in Greenhand Creed. In this event, members present the FFA Creed from memory and answer questions about its meaning and purpose.

The State LDE contest will be held on December 5 and 6 at Sam Houston State university in Huntsville. The Advisor for Job Interview is Susie Hearron and the Advisor for Greenhand Creed is Nick Riecke.
