MPHS Golf Brings Home 1st place Medals from Sulphur Springs
The Mount Pleasant High School Tiger and Lady Tiger golf teams played at the Sulphur Springs Country Club on Monday, October 27 and Tuesday, October 28.
The Tigers had their best tournament of the year on Monday, shooting 306 that was good for a 2nd place team finish. Leading the way for the Tigers was senior Jacob Baker shooting 71 and winning 1st place individual. Next for the Tigers, Hogan Horn shot a 75, good for 5th place. Rounding out the scores were senior Brandon Carter with a 79, junior Christian Cruz 81, and senior Alessandro Greco 98.
On Tuesday, senior Kylee Strickland successfully navigated the rain, wind, and cold weather and tied for 1st place, shooting a 75.
Next up for MPHS golf, the JV Tigers will play at home on November 3, and the Varsity will play Tempest on November 10. The MPHS Golf team is coached by Benny Blaser.
