MPHS Bass Fishing Team Opens Season on Lake Fork
The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team opened their fall season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Fork on Saturday, September 13. MPHS had 11 boats on the water with eight of those earning places.
First for the Tigers, Kamen and Khloe Dunn placed 7th out of 177 boats pulling in five fish weighing 8.22 pounds. Next for the Tigers, the team of Joseph Bell and Logan Holderness placed 18th with five fish weighing 6.7 pounds. Major McCoo placed 53rd with 5 fish weighing 4.15 pounds. Lance Albin and Garrett Brown reeled in two fish weighing 2.34 pounds. Brady Cook and Hunter Wills caught one fish weighing 2.17 pounds. The team of Gunner and Case Rodgers pulled in 3 fish weighing 1.46 pounds. The team of Hayden Harvill and Walter Terrell caught 1 fish weighing .99 pounds. And Donald Cole and Xavier Enciso came up with one fish weighing .75 pounds. Also competing for the Tigers was Brody Clay, the team of Macon Bailey and Brian Derrick, and the team of Blake Humber and Xavian Loewen.
The MPHS Bass Fishing team will be back on the water at Lake Wright Patman on Saturday, October 4. Team members will be fishing for the chance to make it to the state tournament in May.
