The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team continued their fall season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Wright Patman on Saturday, October 4. MPHS had 11 boats on the water with ten of those reeling in fish. Overall, Mount Pleasant finished in 10th place out of 29 schools.

First for the Tigers, Kamen and Khloe Dunn placed 3rd out of 163 boats pulling in five fish weighing 15.24 pounds. They are currently tied for 1st place overall for the season.

Next for the Tigers, the team of Blake Humber and Zavian Loewen placed 55th with two fish weighing 5.46 pounds. Lance Albin and Garrett Brown reeled in two fish weighing 5.18 pounds for 57th place. Major McCoo placed 69th with 2 fish weighing 4.32 pounds. Brady Cook and Hunter Wills caught two fish weighing 3.67 pounds, good for 74th. The team of Gunner and Case Rodgers pulled in 1 fish weighing 2.26 pounds. Macon Bailey and Brian Derrick reeled in one fish weighing 2.07 pounds. Joseph Bell and Logan Holderness were just behind with one fish weighing 1.89 pounds. Donald Cole and Xavier Enciso caught one fish weighing 1.81 pounds. And the team of Hayden Harvill and Walter Terrell caught 2 fish weighing 1.17 pounds.

The MPHS Bass Fishing team will close out the fall season on Lake O’ the Pines on Saturday, October 25. Team members will be fishing for the chance to make it to the state tournament in May.
