Mount Pleasant High School Celebrates National Assisted Living Week
The Goin’ Gold Band and Colorguard, Tiger Dolls, Cheerleaders, and Tiger football celebrated National Assisted Living Week with their down-the-street neighbors at Mt. Pleasant Assisted Living and Heritage Park Village. This year’s theme is “Ageless Adventure.” The Tiger football Captains played Bingo and visited with the residents at Mt. Pleasant Assisted Living on Tuesday, September 9 while the band, Colorguard, Tiger Dolls, and Cheerleaders did a pep rally and visit to both facilities on Thursday, September 11. The students learned that many of the residents attended MPHS themselves, and either they, their children, and/or grandchildren were members of the same organizations in the past.
Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long-term care.
MPHS is planning to return monthly for activities with their neighbors. For more information on Mt.
