As a community service project, members of the Mount Pleasant High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) collected children’s books to be distributed throughout the community of Mount Pleasant. Donation boxes were set up at Annie Sims, E.C. Brice, Frances Corprew, and Vivian Fowler Elementary Schools, Mount Pleasant High School, and the Mount Pleasant ISD Administration Building. On April 8, FBLA Advisor, John Whitten, and Area 6 State Vice President and MPHS FBLA Co-President, Sophie Greco, picked up over 600 books that had been collected. Chapter members then sorted the books into age levels and divided them into English and Spanish books. On Wednesday, May 1, the books were then distributed to Little Rascal’s Day Care, Ignite Youth Club, East Texas Children’s Dentistry, the Pediatric Clinic, and Trinity Baptist Church.
