Mount Pleasant High School seniors in the Cosmetology program attended the Premiere Hair Show in San Antonio, Texas, on September 28-29. The students had the opportunity to learn a variety of new skills, including different haircutting techniques, braiding styles, and many other useful methods that will benefit them as they begin their careers in the salon industry. In addition, students met members of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) education team and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of salon regulations and maintaining professional standards.

Mount Pleasant High School offers three years of instruction in Cosmetology starting with an introductory course for sophomores, followed by Cosmetology I and Cosmetology II for juniors and seniors. Students completing the program can graduate with their cosmetology license at the same time as their high school diploma and immediately begin working in the cosmetology field.
