The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers remained undefeated in District 15-5A on Friday by taking down the visiting Hallsville Lady Cats 70-48. The Lady Tigers won their sixth straight district game, winning every contest by double digits.

Mount Pleasant opened the game with 21-9 first quarter advantage and increased that lead to 16 points at the break, 36-20. That lead blossomed to 54-32 in the third quarter and both teams traded baskets in the final frame to keep the deficit the same. The Lady Tigers scored 42 points off 40 Hallsville turnovers and outshot the Lady Cats 68-32.

Paris Beard notched a double-double with a team high 27 points and 11 steals and Aziyah Farrier also double-doubled with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Conlee Zachry scored in double figures with 12 points, connecting on 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Ella Cross put up 9 points, Kendall Walker 2 points, and Morgan Hill 1 point.

The Lady Tigers will host Texas High on Tuesday at Willie Williams Gym. Texas High has given the Lady Tigers some competition in district play with Mount Pleasant taking their last meeting 51-35. Game times are set for JV at 5:00 PM and Varsity at 6:15 PM.
