Mount Pleasant High School senior Emmanuel “EMan” Harris became the first recipient of a scholarship honoring Jamarion “Jo Jo” Brown at the Tigers vs. Tyler High basketball game on Tuesday, February 17. JoJo played basketball, football, and ran track for the Tigers. Most recently he played basketball for the Reddies at Henderson State University. He passed away suddenly in May of 2025. Emmanuel will graduate from MPHS in May and will further his education at Stephen F. Austin State University where he will play football for the Lumberjacks.
