Thirty-one Mount Pleasant High School Choir members participated in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Choir auditions at Sulphur Springs High School on Saturday, September 20. Twenty MPHS Choir members earned places and two more were selected as alternates. To earn a place in the choir, each singer had to sing three selections and sight read before a panel of five judges, not an easy task for a high school student.

Those selected include Axavier Anderson (2nd Bass, chair 5), Preston Arnold (1st Bass, chair 6), Itzel Bello (1st Soprano, chair 10), Avery Brown (2nd Alto, chair 9), Jayson Carrillo (1st Tenor, chair 3), Taitus Chong (2nd Tenor, chair 6), Bruno Deleon (2nd Bass, chair 3), Aaliyah Gholston (2nd Alto, chair 5), Alexandra Hernandez (2nd Soprano, chair 11), Emileigh Hobbs (2nd Alto, chair 4), Daniel Kimbrough (1st Bass, chair 7), Trista Madrid (1st Soprano, chair 6), Mattie Merriman (2nd Soprano, chair 1), C. J. Quinn (2nd Bass, chair 2), Peyton Robinson (2nd Alto, chair 2), Hector Sierra-Rosales (2nd Bass, chair 4), Sara Vanhoose (2nd Alto, chair 1), Dakota Vogele (2nd Alto, chair 12), Dakota Williams (2nd Tenor, chair 9), and Leticia Willis (2nd Alto, chair 11). Alternates include Maglynn English (2nd Soprano, 1st alternate) and Giselle Hernandez (1st Soprano, 2nd alternate).

The students who have been selected for the All–Region Choir have advanced to Pre-Area auditions on November 19, which is the next level of competition. The annual All-Region Clinic and Concert will be held on Monday, October 28 with the concert beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Carthage High School auditorium.

The MPHS Choir is directed by Nancy Vines and assisted by Joshua Miles with accompaniment provided by Deanna Warren.
