The Mount Pleasant ISD School Foundation held its third adult spelling bee fund raiser event on Saturday, November 6 at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center. The event was catered by Creative Catering and the Mount Pleasant High School Culinary Arts class with culinary arts students serving the guests.

Dr. Clint Davis, pastor of First Baptist Church, served as the Pronouncer for the evening with Caity Bowen and Deanna Warren acting as judges. Each team was made up of three members. At the end of the night, the final two teams remaining were from Diamond C Trailers and the Region 8 Educational Service Center. The Diamond C team failed to correctly spell “parsimoniously”, giving the Region 8 team the chance to win. Winning team members included Shannon Harvill, Steven Hammons, and Torri Miller. Additional team participants represented Ester Smith Trademark Mortgage, East Texas Children’s Dentistry, Guaranty Bank and Trust, Corprew Elementary School, E.C.
