Mount Pleasant High School students Tessa Land and Zach Luker were recognized on the stage at the 39th Annual Health Occupation Students of American (HOSA) International Conference in Nashville, Tennessee last week in the Chapter Reflections Category. Although MPHS has had students qualify for HOSA National/International competitions for a number of years, this is the first time MPHS students have earned recognition at that level.

“The Chapter Reflections event requires students to create a sort of annual report of their chapter’s activities for the year,” explained Suzy Whitten, MPHS Health Science teacher and HOSA advisor. “The Reflection Book takes a commitment because students have to work on it all year. It’s not the kind of thing you can put together in a week or two. I’m really proud of Tessa and Zach for taking on this project. The recognition they received is well-deserved.”

Land, a rising junior, is the daughter of Randy and Dawna Land. Luker, a rising senior is the son of Keith and Jill Luker.
