MPHS Electrical Trades Students Advance to State

Nine Mount Pleasant High School Electrical Trades students have advanced to the Texas SkillsUSA State competition in Corpus Christi April 5-7, 2018.

Giovanni Hipolito and Chris Memije advanced in the Construction Wiring competition. Hipolito also advanced with his Electrical Exhibit. Seven other students advanced with their Electrical Exhibits: Zackary Brown, Eloy Castillo, Jose E. Gonzalez, Eliab Monroy, Solomon Morgan, Mario Rodriguez and Anthony Tejeda.

“These students put in a lot of extra time and worked very hard to get ready for area competition and I am thrilled that nine are going to State,” said Tim Davis, MPHS Electrical Trades instructor and SkillsUSA Advisor. “They are now focusing on preparing to compete at State against students from across Texas, including students from Career-Tech magnet schools. I know they will be great representatives of MPISD and the Mount Pleasant community.”
