Mount Pleasant High School Homecoming Week kicks off with something new this year – Tiger Fest 2015!  This festival celebrating Mt. Pleasant ISD campuses and students will take place on 2nd Street on the north side of the square in downtown Mt. Pleasant Monday, September 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The grand finale will be a community wide pep rally at 7:30 p.m. featuring the MPHS Cheerleaders and Tiger Dolls, the MPJHS Cheerleaders and STOMP Team, the Tiger football team and, of course, the Sweepstakes winning MPHS Goin’ Gold Band.

Booths from all MPISD campuses and many student organizations will line 2nd Street. The MPHS Career and Technical Education Department will have hands-on booths illustrating course content, for example, animals from Agriculture and cooking demonstrations from Culinary Arts. The Tiger Dolls will have a photo booth. The Child Development Center will have a bean bag toss.  Annie Sims Elementary will be giving away snow cones. Fowler will have a sucker pull with books for winners.

“This year the high school decided to try something different to celebrate Homecoming, something that would involve all of our campuses and organizations,” explained Dr. Judi Saxton, MPISD Director of Communication. “Instead of a Homecoming Parade, Mount Pleasant High School is sponsoring Tiger Fest 2015. The entire Mount Pleasant community is invited to this activity-filled event that will have fun things to do for the entire family. Tiger Fest will conclude with a giant pep rally on the Courthouse Steps. We hope everyone will come out to this free event and stay for the Pep Rally.  It should be a lot of fun!”
