Mount Pleasant ISD along with Priefert Ranch Equipment, Longhorn Trailers, Diamond C Trailers, Big Tex Trailers, McCollum Cleaners and Texas Farm Bureau Agent Todd Jaggers are proud to announce the formation of the MPISD Rodeo Team. The Team is open to all Mount Pleasant High School students and to all Titus County Kindergarten through 8th grade students interested in rodeo.

“We decided to form a Rodeo team to reach those MPISD students who are interested in this sport,” said MPHS CTE Director Jay Silman. “This will give them an extracurricular activity that will speak to their interests while other activities may not. We decided that the 9th through 12th graders on the team would need to be MPHS students but we recognized that a lot of younger students may be interested as well and they may not be all MPISD students. So, any Titus County student Kindergarten through 8th grade may participate on the Rodeo team.”

The team is being aided by a number of local businesses, Silman added. “I’d like to thank them for their support.”
The first meeting of the new team will be Thursday, September 17th at 6 p.m. in the Career-Tech Education Building on the MPHS campus (2110 North Edwards).  All interested students, parents and community members are invited to attend.  For more information contact Jay Silman, MPHS CTE Department, 903-575-2081.
