MPJH Band Receives Superior & Excellent Rating at Contest
The Mount Pleasant Junior High School Band participated in the UIL Region 4 Middle School Concert and Sightreading contest held on Friday, March 27 at New Boston High School. The band played 3 pieces on stage including “Forward March!” by Paul Murtha, “As Twilight Falls” by Robert Sheldon, and “Japanese Pictures” by Kevin Mixon, and had to sightread a piece they had never seen before. They earned a superior rating for their stage performance and an excellent rating for sightreading.
The MPJH Bands will perform in the annual MPISD Spring Band Concert at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 in the MPHS Auditorium. The concert will also include performances from the HS Jazz band and the JH & HS percussionists.
