The Mount Pleasant High School Varsity Winter Guard traveled to The Colony High School for the North Texas Colorguard Association Championships on Saturday, March 29. The team qualified to compete in the Championships based on their performances and scores from previous qualifying contests.

In prelims, Varsity placed 4th in their round and earned a score high enough to advance to finals at Coppell High School the next day. Out of 35 winter guards, only 14 teams advanced.

In finals, MPHS finished in 12th place out of the 35 that qualified, with only .61 of a point separating places 9-12.

This contest marked the end of Winter Guard season for the Mount Pleasant ISD Guards. They will now turn their attention to auditions for the upcoming school year. Both the Junior High and High School Colorguards will hold auditions on Friday, April 11.

The Mount Pleasant High School Colorguard is under the direction of Marty Newman with assistance from Abby Phelan. The Junior Guards are under the direction of Peyton McClendon, assisted by Gracie McClendon.
