MPHS Goin’ Gold Band Members Selected for All-Region Band
Sixteen members of the Mount Pleasant High School Goin’ Gold Band were named to the High School All-Region Band after auditions on Friday, December 13 at Pine Tree High School in Longview. Nine of the sixteen have qualified for Area auditions.
Advancing to Area auditions are Neftali Gonzalez (Contra-Bass, 1st chair), Sandy Farias (French Horn, 1st chair), Bryan Garcia (Flute, 1st chair), Evie Whisenhunt (Piccolo, 1st chair), Bruno Deleon (Euphonium, 2nd chair), Christopher Sorto (Bb Clarinet, 3rd chair), Angel Farias (Euphonium, 3rd chair), Alfredo Santillan (Flute, 3rd chair), and Adriel Bagsic (Trumpet, 5th chair).
Also selected for the High School All-Region Band were Julian Chancellor (Tenor Saxophone, 2nd chair), Luke Thurman (Percussion, 3rd chair), Andy Carrillo (Percussion, 7th chair), Jesus Silva (Tenor Trombone, 8th chair), Jayden Adame (Percussion, 9th chair), Walter Terrell (Trumpet,12th chair), and Amy Santillan (Flute, 12th chair).
The selected members will participate in the All-Region clinic and concert on January 24-25 in the Mount Pleasant High School Performing Arts Complex. Area auditions will take place on January 11 at Plano Senior High School.
