The Mount Pleasant High School Goin’ Gold Band competed in the UIL Region IV 5A marching competition on Tuesday, October 15 at Sam Parker Stadium. The band scored 1’s from all judges, the highest scores they could receive, advancing to the UIL Area marching contest. Area will be held on Saturday, October 26 at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. The band’s show, “Diamonds are Forever”, is loosely based on James Bond and features a diamond heist. The Goin’ Gold Band is directed by Dr. Theodus Luckett III, Karen Luckett, Brian Bass, Sheri Sullivan, Chris Richard, and Agustin Garcia with the Colorguard under the direction of Marty Newman and Peyton McClendon.
