MPHS FFA Members Compete at Fort Worth Livestock Show
The Mount Pleasant High School FFA competed at the annual Fort Worth Livestock Show. The Ag Mechanics teams showed their projects January 14-17 while others showed heifers on January 20-24.
In the Ag Mechanics competition, eight MPHS teams brought home ribbons for their projects. Those earning ribbons include:
· Welding Trailer – Erick Moreno, Inacio Hernandez, Codi Dennis (Blue Ribbon)
· Feeder Trailer – Kyle Cates, Ralph Chavez, Adrian Perez, Braylon Jones (Blue Ribbon)
· 10 ft Utility Trailer – Ethan Easley, Isaac Lopez, Oscar Perez, Diego Barrios (Blue Ribbon)
· 10 ft Utility Trailer – Angel Nava, Ismael Vasquez, Eduardo Andrade, Ethan Wilson (Blue Ribbon)
· 10 ft Utility Trailer – Jacob Botello, Michael Cabral (Blue Ribbon)
· Goat Feeder – Yahir Garcia (Blue Ribbon)
· Outdoor Bar – Jazmyn Hall, Jacob Townson, Astin Ledbetter (Blue Ribbon)
· Shop Table – Hannah Harvill, Sam Brown (Red Ribbon)
The following week, the MPHS Breeding Heifer Show Team exhibited their cattle projects at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Those results include:
· Sam Brown—3rd in class with his Hereford heifer
· Hope Vaught—5th in class with her Limousin heifer
· Sarah Godfrey—8th in her class with her Red Angus heifer
· Candace Perez—11th in her class with her Beefmaster heifer
In February, MPHS FFA members will continue showing projects in San Angelo and compete in FFA Career Development Events (CDEs).
