MPHS Cosmetology Students Provide Services for the Community
Students in the Mount Pleasant High School Cosmetology program began opening their doors to the public twice per month in November of 2024. The salon is open one full day from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and one evening from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Opening to the public allows the students to practice their skills and earn hours toward their cosmetology license. The next public open date is Tuesday, February 25 from 9:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Mount Pleasant High School offers three years of instruction in Cosmetology starting with an introductory course for sophomores, followed by Cosmetology I and Cosmetology II for juniors and seniors. Students completing the program can graduate with their cosmetology license at the same time as their high school diploma and immediately begin working in the cosmetology field.
