The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team closed out the regular season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake O’ the Pines on Saturday, March 29. Anglers in 146 boats were competing for the chance to go to the Regional tournament at the end of April.

First for the Tigers, Kamen and Khloe Dunn placed 10th with 5 fish weighing 18.1 lbs. Close behind was the team of Hayden Harvill and Joe Setina finishing in 14th place with 5 fish weighing 15.91 lbs. Logan Holderness finished 55th with 4 fish weighing 10.58 lbs. Not far behind, Rolston Morton and Jonathan Dalby came in 62nd with 4 fish weighing 10.27 lbs. The team of Garrett Brown and Lance Albin placed 108th with 1 fish weighing 2.38 lbs. The team of Gunner and Karlee Rodgers placed 114th with 1 fish weighing 1.88 lbs. Also competing for the Tigers were Donald Cole and Marshall Humber, Ryan Burg and Walter Terrell, Xzavion Jenkins and Kendall McCoo, and Joseph Bell.

Based on points earned throughout the season, MPHS has qualified three boats for Regionals. Hayden Harvill and Joe Setina qualified ranked 14th after the regular season. Kamen and Khloe Dunn qualified ranked 16th. And Logan Holderness qualified in 62nd place. The Regional tournament is scheduled for April 26 at Lake Palestine where anglers will be fishing to qualify for the state tournament in May.
