MPHS Senior Named to Elite Academic All-State Team
Mount Pleasant High School senior basketball player, Tanner Marshall, has been named to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Elite Academic All-State basketball team. Nominees must be senior athletes, student trainers, or managers in good standing with the team and of good moral character and must have an overall GPA of at least 92. When reviewing the nominations, the THSCA considers each students’ GPA, class rank, SAT and/or ACT score and students receive points based on each criterion. Marshall received near perfect scores in all categories, placing him on the Elite team. He is one of only thirty senior basketball players in the state of Texas to be chosen. Marshall is the first MPHS boys basketball player to earn this award in school history.
Marshall is a 4-year member of Tiger football and basketball. He plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall and major in Engineering. He is the son of Judd and Courtney Marshall.
