The Mount Pleasant Lady Tiger volleyball team hosted Teacher Appreciation Night on Tuesday providing a meal for the teachers and honoring their favorite teachers this school year. All three teams also played their district match against Marshall, who is making a strong run for a district championship.

The Varsity Lady Tigers fell in three sets 20-25, 23-25, 23-25 to a stingy Marshall team. Each game was closely contested but Mount Pleasant could not string enough solid plays together to take a game. Freshman Aziyah Farrier led the Mount Pleasant attack with 18 kills followed by Trinitee Brannon with 5 kills and Paris Beard’s 4 kills. Genesis Roberson finished with 21 assists and 17 digs while Beard and Ladi Guereca had 12 digs each. The Lady Tigers fall to 0-5 in district play but will look to right the ship next Tuesday at Sulphur Springs.

Both JV teams won their matches. JV 1 won their match 2-0 and JV 2 won their match by splitting the first two games and then winning the decisive game three.
