The Mount Pleasant High School chapter of Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA: Future Health Professionals) attended the Area 3 Spring Leadership conference in Frisco on February 17-18. The conference was attended by 1,800 health science students from 65 north Texas schools.
Eight MPHS students were recognized at the conference. Senior Sadrian Olvera was awarded a $1000 Scholarship for HOSA involvement.
Junior Tessa Land, senior Zach Luker, sophomore Alyssa Reynolds and freshman Grace Whitten qualified for State in Chapter Reflections. Senior Emily Brown was awarded 1st place and senior Daniela Campos was awarded 4th place in Job Seeking Skills. Freshman Paola Ventura was named 3rd place in Medical Art Poster.
These eight students now advance to State Competition in Corpus Christi in March where they will compete against students from across the state.
