Friday afternoon a group of Tiger Dolls, family members and MPHS staff gathered outside the Tiger Doll Room to plant a Japanese Maple tree in memory of Suzanna Grigsby, a Tiger Doll who passed away as the result of an automobile accident.

The tree, donated by Marcus Smith, the father of Tiger Doll Director Jaton Broach, will bloom with purple flowers, Suzanna’s favorite color.

Smith said he donated the tree to be planted where current and future Tigers Dolls would be able to see it as a memorial to Suzanna who had meant so much to the Tiger Doll organization.

Family members and Tiger Dolls then took the opportunity to place a shovel of dirt around the partially planted tree.  Gene Freeman, with Complete Landsculpture, oversaw the planting of the tree.
