The MPISD School Foundation let the good times boil on Saturday, March 23 at their crawfish boil fundraiser held at the Priefert Hangar. Attendees donned bibs for either crawfish by Krawdaddy’s Catering Service or jambalaya by Red Barn Grill and Bakery plus some hot and spicy live music provided by MPHS graduate, Hayden McBride, and his band that also features MPHS graduate, David Ysasi. Toward the end of the evening, everyone came out of their shells in the photo booth wearing crawfish hats, claws, and boas for free photo mementos. Contributors were definitely not shellfish as the event raked in $18,367.00 that will be used to fund educator grants in the future.

Sponsors for the event included Homeland Title Company and Cross Law Firm, East Texas Children’s Dentistry for the entertainment, and Priefert Manufacturing for the venue. Ester Smith Efinity Mortgage sponsored the photo booth. And Amy and Carl Hinton sponsored dessert, which was a selection of cupcakes.

Thirty-one businesses and groups were table sponsors which included meals for eight guests.
