MPHS graduates D’Marcus Brown and Robby Hampton and former MPHS teacher and coach Henry Garza were inducted into the MPISD Athletic Hall of Fame during pregame Friday, October 13 at Sam Parker Field. The three were introduced, presented with Hall of Fame gold jackets, served as honorary captains and participated in the pre-game coin toss.

Brown, a 1997 graduate, ran track for the Tigers, earning three state titles during his high school career. Hampton, a 1994 graduate, was a member of the 1993 state champion Tiger Baseball team. Garza was a teacher and coach at MPHS from 1979-1998 and coached the 1993 state champion Tiger baseball team.

This is the fourth-year former athletes and coaches have been inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Their portraits will join those of the 17 previous inductees displayed in the Willie Williams Gymnasium hallway.
