MPHS Swim Team Competes at Regionals

The Mt. Pleasant High School Swim Team competed in the Region 4 5A Championship Swim Meet February 1st and 2nd at the LISD Aquatics Center in Lewisville, TX.

Sophomore Ryan Sharp advanced to the state meet in Austin with a 2nd place finish in the backstroke.  His time in his 3rd place finish in the butterfly was also good enough to qualify him to compete in that event at state.  Sharp is the first MPHS swimmer in school history to qualify for the state meet!

The Girls 200-yard Medley Relay team of Katie Ochoa, Hannah Harvill, Isabella Greco, and MaKayla Houchin placed 4th overall.

Individually, Houchin placed 10th and Harvill placed 13th overall in the breaststroke.

Sharp will swim at the state meet on February 15 and 16 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
