The faculty recently selected seniors Tanner Marshall and Madison Hargrove 2024-2025 All School Boy and Girl. Each year the high school staff selects a senior boy and senior girl who represent the ideals and standards of MPHS. This honor is considered the highest a senior can receive because it is voted by the staff.
Marshall, the son of Judd and Courtney Marshall, is the Senior Class Vice President, FBLA member, STUCO member, National Honor Society member, participates in Math UIL, and is a College Board National Rural Member. Marshall is also a Small Town Scholar & a Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy member. He also served as the Junior Class Vice President. He participates in varsity basketball and football and was Basketball Academic All-District. His hobbies include engineering, sports, weightlifting, and video games.
Marshall is planning to attend Texas A&M University and study Mechanical Engineering. “I feel very honored that the adults I walk the halls with every day have noticed my efforts to make my school a better place,” Marshall said.
His role model is his grandfather, his favorite foods are double meat cheeseburger and cheese sticks, his favorite subjects are math and science because he loves to solve problems and create new things.
Hargrove, the daughter of Kay and Justin Hargrove, is a four-year member and Varsity Captain of the cheer team, member of National Honors Society, a member of NTHS, and a member of HOSA. Her hobbies are giving her spare time to the community and cheer.
Hargrove plans on attending NTCC to get her RN, then transfer to UT Arlington to get her BSN, so eventually she can work in the NICU.
She said, “It is an honor to be recognized by the teachers in MPHS and to know that they notice my efforts to be a good person and the pride I take in not only that, but the pride I take in this school and the way it is represented. Her favorite food is strawberries and her favorite subject is Practicum in Health Science because, “it is preparing me for my future.” Her role model is her mother because, “she has shown me how to be a kindhearted and exemplary person.”
