We want to inform our MPISD families about a grocery benefit that ALL MPISD families are eligible for: the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (PEBT). It is a one-time, $285 benefit per child that you will receive on an EBT card (like a debit card). ALL STUDENTS IN MPISD ARE ELIGIBLE because ALL students receive free meals through the Community Eligibility Provision. The money you receive must be used on food and must be used within one year from the date you receive it.
One group of people DOES NOT need to apply: those who received SNAP benefits in MARCH. Your extra $285 was loaded onto your card in May. (EXCEPTION: If you have a child in your household who is under 5 or between the ages of 19-21, you will need to fill out an application for those children. The link to apply is below.)
All other groups, including those who started receiving SNAP benefits in April or May, and those who do not receive those benefits at all, DO need to apply.
