The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Math and Science teams competed in the Pine Tree Math/Science Invitational meet on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Overall, MPHS earned 3rd place Sweepstakes in the large school division and also claimed 1st place as a team in Calculator Applications and 3rd place as a team in Science.

Individual results are as follows:

Calculator Applications (1st place team)
10th grade: Devin Castaneda 1st, Param Poudel 4th, Ethan Harbour 6th
11th grade: Johnathan Sandate 4th, Jackelin Gomez 5th
12th grade: Miguel Segura 1st, Nicholas Segovia 4th
Overall: Miguel Segura 2nd, Devin Castaneda 3rd

Science (3rd place team)
10th grade: Ethan Harbour 4th, Natalie Crockett 5th, Devin Castaneda 6th

Mathematics
10th grade: Devin Castaneda 3rd, Ethan Harbour 5th, Param Poudel 6th
12th grade: Miguel Segura 1st

Number Sense
10th grade: Ethan Harbour 6th

The MPHS UIL academic teams will travel to Whitehouse on November 7. The MPHS math and science teams are coached by Osias Hernandez and Larry Russell.
