The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team opened its season on Saturday, October 18, hosting the Fall Tiger Classic on the MPHS campus. The annual event is a fund raiser for the MPHS Academic teams and helps to fund their travel to events throughout the year. In all, nine schools from our local area participated.

Next up for the MPHS UIL Academic team is the Walk the Plank Invitational at Pine Tree on November 1. The teams are coached by Gina Crouch, Osias Hernandez, Jack Jones, Shelby Criss, Joel Whitaker, John Whitten, Kim Cox, Larry Russell, Randy Ballard, and Tammy Thomas.
