The Mount Pleasant Tigers took the title of champions in the Paris Holiday Tournament with a resounding victory over Paris, 79-71.
The game was, of sorts, a revenge game for the Tigers avenging a 5-point loss to the Wildcats earlier in the season. Paris started off the game hot making 8 three pointers in the first half. But the Tigers held their own and saw themselves down only 4 points at the break, 41-45.
The third quarter was owned by the Tigers as they outscored the Wildcats 19-5. A thunderous dunk attempt by Senior Holden Davis sent electricity through the gym and jolted the Tiger fans to their feet. Just a few seconds later Sophomore Dorian Glinton provided an exclamation point with a breakaway slam of his own that sent the fans into a raucous. James Moore had the hot hand in the second half with 3 made baskets from distance.
Dorian Glinton led the Tigers with 26 points, a season and career high. James Moore followed up with 18 points and Josh McGill and Kevin Savage had 11 points each. Also scoring was Holden Davis 5 points and Buddy McGill and KJ Cannon with 4 points.
The Tigers (13-5, 1-0) will host Pine Tree (4-9, 0-1) Tuesday night as district play gets back underway at Willie Williams Gym.
