The Mount Pleasant High School Theatre Department announces their first production of the season, The Outsiders, from the book by S.E. Hinton.

The stage adaptation deals with real people, seen through the eyes of young Ponyboy, a Greaser on the wrong side of life, caught up in territorial battles between the have-it-made rich kids—the Socs—and his tough, underprivileged “greaser” family and friends.

The cast includes Jose Jimenez as Ponyboy, Sadera Lampard and Peyton Robinson as Johnny, Roger McKay as Bob and Paul, Joey Dunn as Randy, Dawson Hernandez as Dallas, Emma Sanders as Two-bit, Kevin Mendoza as Darry, Jeffrey Bond as Sodapop, Gracie Martinez as Sandy, Addison McQueen as Cherry, Sunny Anderson and Grace Berry as Marcia, Isabella Flores as Gerry, Kaytlynn Sims as Doctor, Charity Prater as Nurse, and Allison Mendoza as Mrs. Syme. The crew includes Stage Manager Sara Guerrero, Backstage Manager Danika Beckham, make-up and hair by Savannah Murillo, sound by Crystal Francis and Sara Guerrero, lights by Crystalla Anderson and Selida Hernandez, fog machine by Savannah Murillo and Gabriel Remlinger, curtains by Conner Means, and Lead Crew Gabriel Remlinger with crew members Tristan Trejo, Zaid Perez, and Raul Torres.
