Tripp Hinton, Mount Pleasant High School sophomore, has awarded scholarships to five graduating seniors from Mount Pleasant High School totaling $1,600. Tripp started the Nancy Ellis Hinton Scholarship when he was in the 7th grade to honor the memory of his grandmother, a Mount Pleasant native. Tripp earns the money he awards through work and fundraisers and since 2014 has awarded $3,200.
