MPHS JV Winter Guard Wins Competition
The Mount Pleasant High School JV A Winter Guard team competed at the North Texas Colorguard Association (NTCA) competition at James Martin High School in Arlington on January 22. The competition featured 46 teams from across the state of Texas.
The JV A Winter Guard placed 1st in their division, over five points ahead of second place. Their score was high enough that they have been promoted to the Scholastic A division, which is the next classification up. The JV show is titled “Clarity”.
MPHS Colorguard Director, Cristian Gomez, said “The students had a great first performance. They are all eager to learn the rest of the show and perform it in front of the audience and judges.”
All four MPISD Winterguard groups, MPHS Varsity, MPHS JV A, MPHS JV B, and MP Junior Guard, will compete on February 5 at Prosper HS.
