MPHS Golf Prepares for District
The Mount Pleasant High School golf teams continued preparing for the district tournament over the weekend. The Tigers played in the Twisted 54 Tournament in Longview and Gladewater on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1. The Lady Tigers braved the wind and cold on Monday, March 3, at Hide-Away- Lake in Lindale.
The Tigers finished 7th out of 18 teams with junior, Jacob Baker, finishing 3rd overall, shooting 7 under with a three round total 205. Also competing for the Tigers were Brandon Carter (233), Hogan Horn (237), Bradon Lowry (273), and Alessandro Greco (334).
Leading the way for the Lady Tigers was junior, Kylee Strickland, shooting 80 and finishing 2nd out of 97 girls. Senior, Kate Ball, finished the tournament with 117.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers each have one more tournament on March 10 will before District. MPHS golf is coached by Benny Blaser.
