MPHS Golf Continues Season
On Friday and Saturday, February 27-28, Mount Pleasant High School senior and Texas A&M—Texarkana commit Kylee Strickland competed in the Texas High Lady Tiger Classic. The Tiger Classic is one of the most competitive tournaments in North Texas, with teams coming from Austin and the DFW area to play at Texarkana Country Club. On Friday Strickland shot an 80 followed by a 71 on Saturday, finishing +7 for a total of 151 and 15th place out of 80 girls.
The MPHS Tiger JV golf team played in their final tournament at the Mount Pleasant Country Club on Monday, March 2. Leading the way for the Tigers was freshman Bryant Fisk shooting 108, then freshman Wyatt Adkins 121, and freshman Eli Berry 126.
Next up for MPHS golf, the Lady Tigers play in the district tournament at Tempest Golf Club on March 23-24. The Tigers have one more tournament on March 9 before their district tournament, also at Tempest on March 31-April 1. The MPHS Golf team is coached by Benny Blaser.
