The Mount Pleasant High School Goin’ Gold Band presented awards at its recent End-of-Year Banquet. The Highest Band Award given, the John Phillip Sousa Award, went to Allan Ruan, who also received the Drum Major Award.  Addison Hunter and Steven Mendoza also received Drum Major Awards.

The top Jazz Band Award, the Clark Terry Jazz Award, when to Jose Martinez.

Other Band Awards include: Outstanding Freshman-Nia Jackson; Outstanding Sophomore-Ryan Daugherty; Outstanding Junior-Oscar Palacios; Outstanding Senior-Julie Vasquez; Outstanding Percussion-Hunter Williams; Most Improved Percussion-Jerrius Vickers; Outstanding High Brass-Jose Martinez; Outstanding Low Brass-Angel Perez; Outstanding High Woodwind-Nia Jackson; Outstanding Low Woodwind-Nestor Cruz; Most Improved High Brass-Omar Marquez; Most Improved Low Brass-Jordi Bello; Most Improved Low Brass-Enrique Ramos; Most Improved Woodwind-Brian Ramirez and Outstanding Marcher-Israel Perez.

Awards were also presented to members of the Colorguard. Most Outstanding Colorguard Member Awards were presented to Natiie Macedo and Peyton McClendon. Other Colorguard Awards include: Most Outstanding Colorguard Freshman-Sashi Poudel; Most Outstanding Colorguard Sophomore-Lincy Hernandez; Most Outstanding Colorguard Junior-Leslie Caamal; Most Outstanding Colorguard Senior-Janelle Wright; Most Outstanding Colorguard Senior-Brooklyn Mata and Most Improved Colorguard-Christian Cabrera.
