The Mount Pleasant High School Cosmetology class of 2016 will walk across the stage to receive their high school diploma having already earned their state Cosmetology licenses.

“This is the first class to graduate with a high school diploma and a Cosmetology license at the same time,” said Cosmetology teacher Aleshia Rivera. “Many of my students get their licenses however it is in the summer after they graduate. This class excelled.”

“As their teacher and advisor for the last three years, I watched these young ladies develop both academically and personally into mature individuals,” she continued.  “Throughout their journey in cosmetology, they have learned to be independent confident young women. Each one of them has so much strength, power, courage and brilliance inside of them and I know that they are more than ready to go out and change this world. I think Plato says it best ‘The beginning is the most important part of the work’.  These ladies have definitely taken advantage of starting at the beginning.”
