Each October the Mount Pleasant High School Cosmetology classes celebrate Halloween by visiting a local nursing home to give manicures and throw a party for the residents. This year they visited Heritage Park Village. Led by instructor Aleshia Rivera, the students dress in full costumes with make-up and bring all the necessary supplies to offer full manicures to any resident who wants one.
“This is not just something the students do to earn community service hours,” Rivera explained. “They truly enjoy planning the activities for the party and then getting the chance to visit with the residents. It’s something they look forward to all fall semester.”
