MPHS Choir Students Advance to Area Auditions
Twenty All-Region Choir students from Mount Pleasant High School participated in Pre-Area auditions on Thursday, November 13 at the Mount Pleasant High School Performing Arts Complex, performing 3 selections for the audition. Eleven have advanced to Area auditions in January.
Area qualifiers include seniors Bruno Deleon (2nd bass, 3rd chair), Mattie Merriman (2nd soprano, 1st chair), and Peyton Robinson (2nd alto, 2nd chair), juniors Axavier Anderson (2nd bass, 5th chair), Itzel Bello (1st soprano, 10th chair), Daniel Kimbrough (1st bass, 7th chair), Trista Madrid (1st soprano, 6th chair), Hector Sierra-Rosales (2nd bass, 4th chair), and Sara Vanhoose (2nd alto, 1st chair), and freshmen Jayson Carrillo (1st tenor, 3rd chair), and C.J. Quinn (2nd bass, 2nd chair).
Area auditions will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Baylor University in Waco. The MPHS Choir program is under the direction of Nancy Vines.
