Mount Pleasant High School senior, Daniel Robles, signed a letter of intent to run track at Southern Arkansas University. Robles will compete in both cross country and track for the Muleriders while majoring in Finance. Located in Magnolia, Ar., SAU participates in the Great American Conference as a Division II athletic program competing against Arkansas Tech, the University of Arkansas—Monticello, East Central, Harding, Henderson State, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Oklahoma Baptist, Ouachita, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southern Nazarene, and Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Robles has been a four-year member of Tiger cross country and track where he has run the 5K, 1600 meters, and 3200 meters. He is a district champion in all three events and missed going to state in cross country his senior season by just one place. He is an active member of his church, Nueva Esparanza, and is a member of the MPHS National Honor Society. Robles said, “As our track season comes to an end, being a Tiger will always have a special place in my heart.” He is the son of Pedro and Juana Robles.
