Mount Pleasant High School seniors Jashon Pogue, Josh Morris, and Dorian Glinton signed letters of intent to continue their football careers on National Signing Day, February 6, 2019.
Pogue, the son of Jason and Krista Pogue, will play for the Falcons of UT Permian Basin, a public division II school in the Lone Star Conference located in Odessa, TX.
Morris, the son of Marsha Morris, will play for the Falcons of Friends University, a private university in the NAIA division located in Wichita, KS.
Glinton, the son of Deanna Williams, will play for the Rangers of Kilgore College, a two-year junior college located in Kilgore, TX.
“I am extremely excited for all three of these young men,” said MPISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Ritchie Pinckard. “Getting the opportunity to play college football in this day and age is a very difficult task to accomplish. It may seem as if scholarships get passed out by the thousands, but there are literally hundreds of thousands of student athletes in our country, which makes this a tremendous achievement for these guys. Each one of these young men played a crucial role on our team and did so each and every week. I am glad that they got to see their hard work pay off in the ultimate way. My prayers will continue to go out to them as they embark on what should be the best journey of their lives!”
