Heather Brown was born in Mt. Pleasant and grew up in Omaha. She graduated from Paul Pewitt High School and earned her Bachelor’s of Applied Arts – Liberal Arts from Texas A&M Texarkana. Eighteen Mount Pleasant Junior High School 7th Grade students were invited to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) and took either the ACT or the SAT, both college-entrance exams.
