Sixty-three Mount Pleasant Junior High School students are now members of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) following the official induction ceremony on Tuesday, November 4 in the Mount Pleasant Junior High School gym. The new members join the 55 returning eighth-grade members bringing the total membership to 118.

The new NJHS officers discussed the qualities of a National Junior Honor Society member in the traditional candle lighting ceremony. The 2025-2026 NJHS officers are President Kaydi Rogers, Vice President Chanasya Elvine, Secretary Esmeralda Guerrero, Treasurer Stephanie Mendoza, Historian Piper Hearron, and Parliamentarian Karli Lowry. Mount Pleasant High School National Honor Society Vice President, Wendy Valdez, was the guest speaker. Valdez told the students about her experiences as a junior high student who struggled in math but learned not to strive for perfection, but to focus more on learning and growing.

New members are eighth graders Bralee Burleson, Dulce Castrejon, Krystopher Castro, Kenley Cochran, Luke Ethridge, Kelvin Garcia, Dayra Gonzalez, Aubriella Knieriem, Ulisses Mata, Braylee Noguera, Axel Sanchez, and Kaylee Sandate, and seventh graders Kael Aleman, Isabella Alvarez, McKenzie Beltran, Victoria Brown, Juan Canada, Khloee Castro, Sebastian Cates, Abram Chavez, Emma Cochran, Daniel Crabb, Nicholai Crabtree, Cristian De La Hoya, Shane Dimon, Jamie Douglas, Thatcher Drange, Belle Erickstad, Moriah Eskew, Itzel Estrada, Paola Fernandez, Camila Flores, Ava Claire Hageman, Anthony Galindo Hernandez, Lylee Gallardo, Andrea Garcia, Layne Golden, Kolten Heeren, Jake Jones, Anna Kham, Brayan Lopez, Shayla Macareno, Chloe Mancera, Piper Martin, Nathaniel Martinez, Samantha Martinez, Annalie Mata, Isabela Meeks, Kenly Moreno, Nathaniel Orduna, Miguel Perez, Nayeli Pulquero, Allison Recendiz, Josue Robles, Sebastian Sheppard, Madison Southern, Jaxon Terry, Emmalyn Thurman, Roberto Valenzuela, Jannely Valerio, Jaretzy Villeda, Gavin Williams, and Kezia Williams.
