MPJH Art Students Win Ribbons at Titus County Fair
Mount Pleasant Junior High students showcased their artistic talent at the 2025 Titus County Fair Art Show, earning numerous awards across multiple divisions. Their creativity, dedication, and craftsmanship were recognized throughout the competition, with several students receiving top honors.
In the All Stars division, Janely Pina earned 1st Place, Best of Class, and Best of Show. Ryder Lowen and Liam Salazar received 2nd Place, and Josiah Swiger earned 3rd Place. Honorable Mentions were awarded to Preston Blackwell, Getzy Gallegos, Bradlee Hughes, James Liskey, Landon Lopez, Bella Luna, William Turner, and Benjamin Hernandez.
In the Intermediate (Ages 12–14) division, 1st Place awards went to Jannah Castro, Kaylee De La Cruz (Best of Class, Best of Show, and Sweepstakes), Jackeline Rodas, Kaylee De La Cruz, Yamileth Ruiz, Samantha Sierra, Krichtisha Garcia, Michael Diaz, Niyah Williams, Rylee Meeks, and Mary Craddock.
2nd Place winners included Tiana Evans, Jayle Avales, Camden York, Tina Contreras, Krichtisha Garcia, Nelly Ruiz, Rafa Duran, Rael Garcia, Julie Granados, Lily Rojas, Samantha Sierra, Kara Cuellar, Kaylee Luman, Alyson Nicanor, Marieli Barboza, Angelina Mendoza, Abel Garcia, and Madi Weatherford.
3rd Place recognition went to Tiana Evans, Jayle Avales, Camden York, Nelly Ruiz, Julie Granados, Lily Rojas, Jailyn Madora, Julian Mendoza, Kara Cuellar, Michael Diaz, Alyson Nicanor, India Sandoval, Jennifer Mendoza, Jennifer Barboza, Jose Corley, Anaylannie Colon, Abbi Olvera, Angelina Mendoza, Alyson Nicanor, and Madi Weatherford.
Additional honors were given to Krystal Gonzalez and Rae Garcia, who each earned Best of Class and Best of Show. Honorable Mentions were awarded to Alyson Nicanor, Isollem Moreno-Acosta, Jennifer Barboza, Marieli Barboza and Belle Erickstad.
In the Professional division, MPJH Art teacher Blanca Hernandez received 1st Place.
MPISD offers art instruction on all elementary, middle, and high school campuses. The Mount Pleasant Junior High art instructor is Blanca Hernandez.
